FEBA Mentorship Program has the unique advantage of diverse mentor pool and as such; cultural parameters and ethnic tutoring are given priority. Mentors are trained in different modules delivered by academicians and professionals in their fields focused on the four main categories of our mentorship program: college readiness and financial aid consultancy,personal/social development and cultural awareness, academic development and career development. These aspects of the program create a higher standard of personal development for our mentors.

With its unique ‘comprehensive’ mentoring approach, FEBA Mentorship Program has two equally important components based on the needs of the mentees individualized and group. By its nature, some elements of the mentoring items necessitates group sessions for a more efficient delivery e.g. the topics requires highly skilled/trained instructors. Group topics of mentorship program will be managed via presentations or workshops to a large group of mentees. In addition to presentations, tutoring or SAT/PSAT studies can be provided after school to a large number of students under the academic development and college readiness elements of our mentorship program by mentors who are trained for delivering a SAT curriculum and other instructional assistance. These topics will benefit all the mentees involved.

However, certain topics of mentorship require a more individualized approach. Students may need assistance on social/personal development based on their backgrounds or career development based on their skills and interest. Certain students may have issue with English as a second language and will require more individualized attention with an emphasis on ethnic tutoring. Tantamount to having a successful mentorship program, it is important to have a strong one on one relationship between mentors and mentees. Such topics falling under our ‘individual’ elements will be delivered by our mentors on individual basis. Mentors will share
their email addresses and possibly phone numbers with the mentees for a convenient follow up process and also to be available whenever mentees need any help or advice within the rules and regulations about mentee-mentor relation is defined in accordance with school’s requirements.
